Forthcoming Events

Ring a First In February

What would you / members of your band like to achieve for YOUR First in February this year? ....

When and where? Any time during February on a practice night, at an Association event or specially arranged just for you

What? Here's some ideas for starters ....

  • First Quarter/ First Quarter of ../First Quarter as conductor/local band Quarter ..
  • Conduct call changes (to Queens and back)
  • 120 of Plain Bob Doubles (treble, tenor behind, inside bell or as conductor)
  • Ring the treble to a course of Treble Bob or Surprise Minor
  • Course/touch of Cambridge S Minor inside

How?  Can you arrange to ring this with your local band? If not then go along to an Association Meeting (Contact Angela Blackburn, trainingofficer@bacbr.org.uk in advance to check that what you are hoping to ring might be possible)
If you would like to attempt or need help with arranging a Quarter Peal, request help by emailing Angela, trainingofficer@bacbr.org.uk  We will do our best to facilitate.

DON'T FORGET! Please submit any Firsts rung during February to BellBoard  https://bb.ringingworld.co.uk/submit.php
and, once submitted, link them to the Bedfordshire Association's Ring a First in February event: https://bb.ringingworld.co.uk/event.php?id=20107  If you get stuck, email details to Linda, president@bacbr.org.uk

Good luck and enjoy achieving a First in February!

Manage Your Membership
https://membermojo.co.uk/bacbr

More than half of our members have already signed up - thank you!
It is really important that ALL members register with MemberMoj

This is so that:

  • you can check that the details which we hold for you are up to date (necessary to ensure that we comply with GDPR.)
  • you can specify your communication preferences*, including whether you wish to receive a printed annual report.
  • you can pay your subscription quickly and easily if it is due. Card payments are now available, and are our preferred means of payment, though other forms of payment are still possible. Most importantly, until you have registered, the Treasurer cannot find your name in the system to mark your subscription as having been paid!
  • we can collect any donations members may wish to make to the BRF and R J Sharp Fund

If you haven't yet registered, please do so asap by going to
the Association's MemberMojo Homepage
https://membermojo.co.uk/bacbr
then follow the instructions.
It only takes a few minutes!

If any members of your tower do not have online access, please download a paper membership form, ask them to complete and send to us (details given on form) and we will register them.  Forms can be found here: https://www.bacbr.org.uk/association/business/subscriptions/

* Apologies if you indicated on MemberMojo that you did not wish to continue receiving this Update. We will amend our circulation list to take into account your preferences as soon as possible. In the meantime, you can unsubscribe below.

Printed Annual Reports

All members already have access to Association Annual Reports in their tower or online at:
https://www.bacbr.org.uk/association/annual-report/

The 2024 Annual Report is currently being prepared and will go to print in March. A copy will be provided for each tower in Bedfordshire. We will not be providing a report for each member unless they request it.

The decision to only provide reports to members on request has been taken following consultations over the past few years. Printing fewer reports will not only cut costs but also reduce wastage. Of the members who have so far indicated a preference, 65% do not want a printed annual report ... that's a lot of reports gathering dust on shelves or going into the bin!

If you still wish to receive your own printed copy of the Annual Report, please request it by the end of February via your Member Form on MemberMojo.
This will be delivered to you via your tower prior to the AGM in May.

Please note: If members of your tower do not have online access, but wish to receive a printed annual report, please download a paper membership form (see above) for them to complete and send to us so that we can register them with MemberMojo. Alternatively you can request a printed report on their behalf by emailing annualreport@bacbr.org.uk
