Young Ringers Practices

Who?

Bedfordshire Young Ringers is for all young ringers in Bedfordshire aged 18 or under, whatever your ringing experience. (Experienced tutors will be there to help!)

When?

Practices are generally held on the second Sunday of each month from 2.30 until 4.30pm (Please check the calendar to confirm dates)

Where?

We hold the practices at All Saints, Campton, an easy-going ring of 8 bells.

The aims of Bedfordshire Young Ringers are to:

  • provide opportunities for young ringers to progress and to learn new skills (such as ringing handbells).
  • meet and ring with others their own age.
  • eat cake!
  • have fun!

Ringing World National Youth Contest (RWNYC)

In the past we have entered a Bedfordshire team in the RWNYC.  We were so proud to win in York in 2013,  Worcester in 2014, Oxford in 2015 and London in 2016! However, it’s now been a few years since we’ve been able to enter so we’re looking forward to building up a team from our next generation of young ringers so that we can take part in the Contest again in the future … and maybe even bring the trophy back to Bedfordshire again!

Safeguarding

We ask that all young ringers under the age of 18 are accompanied by an adult. Adults do not need to stay for the whole session as long as we have contact details (though you are very welcome to do so – tea, coffee and a warm place to sit will be available). There will always be at least 2 DBS checked adults present to assist with the ringing. We will need some paperwork to be completed for each young ringer the first time they attend.

Parents /guardians must complete this form – print off as a word doc or a pdf and bring it with your child when they come to a Young Ringers practice for the first time.
