About
The Bedfordshire Association of Church Bell Ringers was established on 13th March 1882. Our patron is currently the Right Reverend Richard Atkinson, Bishop of Bedford. (We will invite the new Bishop of St Albans to be a Patron once in post in 2026).
Our Association covers the geographical county of Bedfordshire and the parish of Eaton Socon in Cambridgeshire. There are 83 churches with ringable bells in Bedfordshire and we have about 320 members.
Our Objects are to:
- promote ringing for Church services and other appropriate occasions.
- encourage recruitment, training and development of ringers and advancing the art of change ringing.
- support the care, maintenance, improvement and restoration of bells within our area.
- further an appreciation of bells and bell ringing amongst the general public.
The Association is a registered Charity, number 263781, see http://apps.BACBR Charity No. 263781 for more details.
