Ringing World National Youth Contest

26th March 2011

A team from Bedfordshire took part in the Ringing World National Youth Contest which was held as part of the Ringing World Centenary Day at St Saviour’s Chuch, Pimlico.  The judges graded the  teams from A to E, with Bedfordshire scoring a Grade C!  The judges commented on the call changes that they rang as their test piece, saying that they got off to a brisk start with very musical changes, that the “Whittingtons” change was rung well, and that they had a good finish.  Well done and “thank you” to all who took part (Alice, John, George, George, Cameron, Courtney, Aaron & Tom), to the “back office team” who got the band together, and especially to Nick Brown who coached and called the changes from “outside of the circle”.  There is a photo on the link at the bottom of this page, and more on https://picasaweb.google.com/110277376977712960225 .

Three Young Ringers from Houghton Regis took part in this competition.  Read all about the Young Ringers Youth Initiative championed by their Tower Captain, Delroy Grey here.
